Stage Combat:

Fight choreography in movies, television series, and theater is called "Stage Combat." This type of acting, also known as "Stage Combat," can be called "Action Acting." It is used in many productions, especially in Hollywood, regardless of the subject or genre (action, romance, comedy, romantic comedy, thriller, science fiction, etc.).

The Place, Scope, and Need for Stage Combat Training in Turkey:

While it has only recently begun to be practiced professionally in Turkey, its use will increase over time. The rate of progress depends on the increasing number of trained individuals. One of the biggest obstacles to its development as a sector and the production of more action scenes is the lack of actors trained in martial arts and stage combat. The fight choreographer, arriving on set just before a scene is shot, has to work with the actors in a short time, preventing them from getting enough rehearsals, which prevents effective choreography and scenes. To avoid this problem, providing the actors with stage combat training beforehand and beginning rehearsals well in advance of the shooting date will result in much better scenes. In Hollywood films, actors begin their fight training six months before shooting. The choreography for the scenes is also developed much earlier.

Developing a large number of actors who receive stage combat training and are capable of performing action scenes will be a great convenience for film companies. When they want to work with trained stage combat actors who want to shoot action films and various action scenes, they will bring a breath of fresh air to the industry.

Since there is insufficient research in this field in Turkey, we want to start with basic training and gradually bring it to Hollywood levels.

Having a fight choreographer (we can call them an action director) working alongside the director during filming will increase efficiency.

Projects featuring action scenes with professional stage fight and choreography will undoubtedly elevate the cinema industry in this category in Turkey.
